Role overview
The Event Concept Developer is a core creative-strategic role responsible for shaping memorable event ideas and experience stories from the first client brief through to proposal submission and post-event learning. This person turns business needs into immersive concepts that connect emotionally, look visually distinctive, and support brand and audience objectives. The role calls for a balance of imagination, analysis, cultural awareness, and commercial thinking.
Proposal development and concept creation
In this role, you will interpret RFPs and client briefs to identify the real objectives behind each request, then build compelling creative and technical proposal responses. You will prepare complete submission packs that may include the event concept and storyline, execution approach, technical details, company profile, case studies, and compliance documents. You will also work with design and content teams to ensure proposals are polished, branded, and delivered on time, while maintaining a tracker and content repository for future opportunities.
Experience design and strategic planning
You will design end-to-end guest journeys, from arrival to departure, with a focus on engagement, brand immersion, and emotional impact. The work involves creating interactive ideas such as workshops, digital activations, and installations, while considering audience profiles, behavioral insights, event flow, accessibility, and cultural relevance. You will also recommend whether a live, hybrid, or virtual format best suits the brief, goals, and constraints.
Creative direction and content oversight
The position involves defining the event’s creative tone, visual identity, and overall aesthetic direction. You will guide the development of brand assets, signage, media materials, and interactive screen content, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects the client’s brand and narrative. A key part of the role is keeping the concept original, coherent, and aligned with the intended audience and cultural context.
Client presentation and collaboration
You will present creative concepts and pitch proposals to clients with confidence and strategic clarity, acting as a trusted advisor on experience design and content direction. The role requires adapting ideas based on feedback, facilitating co-creation sessions, and helping clients refine their vision while maintaining feasibility and impact.
Internal leadership and teamwork
Close collaboration with project managers, production leads, and creative directors is essential to ensure that ideas can be delivered effectively. You will lead brainstorming sessions, content briefings, rehearsals, and creative reviews, and you will brief and supervise graphic, 3D, content, and production teams. The role also includes reviewing deliverables for quality and consistency, and mentoring junior creatives to strengthen a strong, ideas-led team culture.
Trend research and cultural insight
You are expected to keep up with current and emerging trends across culture, design, technology, entertainment, and brand activations. This includes benchmarking leading events and activations, studying case examples, and bringing fresh, relevant ideas into proposals to improve originality and audience appeal.
Post-event review and innovation
After events, you will contribute to debriefs to understand what worked creatively and where improvements can be made. You will review audience engagement and client satisfaction, collect feedback from attendees and stakeholders, and use those insights to strengthen future concepts and proposal approaches.
