Role Overview
Eurofins Biopharma Product Testing Ireland is looking for an Associate Scientist to join its Biopharmaceutical Team in Dungarvan, County Waterford. The role sits within a leading contract laboratory that supports testing and research work for the environmental, pharmaceutical, and biopharmaceutical sectors for clients around the world.
What the Role Is About
The core purpose of this position is to conduct quality control testing on pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products, helping ensure they meet defined quality and safety requirements.
Key Duties
- Carry out both routine and non-routine analyses with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare and complete test documentation promptly while following SOPs and relevant regulatory expectations.
- Look for ways to improve quality and service delivery, and take part in ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Work in line with GMP principles and internal quality systems, keeping all work fully documented and traceable.
- Take part in root cause investigations and draft exception reports when needed.
- Build competence in assigned tests and testing areas while keeping training records up to date.
- Support and train colleagues in methods or tests where you have demonstrated competence.
- Provide cover for team members when required.
- Join weekend rota duties, overtime, and on-call/call-out arrangements as needed.
- Ensure customer requirements are understood and met.
Required Experience and Skills
The company is seeking someone with 1 to 3 years of GMP experience, strong attention to detail, and hands-on HPLC experience, ideally with exposure to biologics testing. The right candidate should be organised, accurate, comfortable with documentation, and have a solid grasp of GMP practices. You should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively, show professionalism, maintain a quality-focused mindset, and be eager to learn. Flexibility, proactivity, customer focus, and strong communication skills are also important.
