Agricultural Engineer

Role Overview

Ila Advisory is looking for an Agricultural Engineer to support crop production, farm infrastructure, and environmentally responsible farming practices in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, on-site role for someone who can combine engineering knowledge with practical field support and operational coordination.

Key Focus Areas

• Apply agricultural engineering principles to improve crop production systems, farm structures, and sustainability practices.
• Support project planning for farming activities by helping with budgeting, scheduling, and allocation of resources.
• Work on irrigation systems from design through installation and ongoing upkeep, with an emphasis on efficient water use.
• Assist with pest management approaches, including integrated pest management practices and compliant, safe application methods.
• Provide technical support to farmers and operational staff by resolving field issues and promoting effective working methods.

Qualifications

• A strong academic and practical background in Agricultural Engineering, with experience using engineering methods in agricultural settings.
• Ability to plan and coordinate agricultural projects, including timelines, resources, and operational requirements.
• Practical exposure to irrigation system design, implementation, and maintenance focused on sustainability and water efficiency.
• Working knowledge of pest control techniques, especially integrated pest management and responsible use of pest solutions.
• Capacity to guide farmers and field teams through troubleshooting, training, and day-to-day technical support.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering or a closely related discipline; higher qualifications or certifications will be an added advantage.
• Awareness of local farming regulations, environmental expectations, and agricultural conditions in Saudi Arabia or similar climates.
• Good analytical and reporting skills, along with the ability to use agricultural software and perform basic data analysis.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional on-site teams.
• Comfort working in field environments, making regular site visits, and adjusting to changing project requirements.
