Role Overview

Paperplanes LLP is seeking a skilled and imaginative Video Editor to produce polished, high-impact video content for digital channels, advertising initiatives, brand storytelling, and marketing campaigns. This position calls for someone who can manage assignments independently, take responsibility for deliverables, and bring fresh creative ideas from the initial concept through to the finished output.

What You Will Do

• Transform unprocessed footage into refined videos for social media, advertisements, promotional campaigns, and branded media.
• Develop motion graphics, animations, and visual effects in Adobe After Effects.
• Carry out professional editing work in Adobe Premiere Pro, including cutting, transitions, colour correction, audio balancing, and synchronization.
• Enhance videos with subtitles, overlays, effects, and graphics while keeping the final product neat and visually strong.
• Own assigned projects end-to-end and ensure they are completed on time without compromising quality.
• Offer creative suggestions and improvements proactively, working with limited supervision.
• Work closely with content, design, and marketing teams to turn ideas into finished visual assets.
• Maintain consistent branding across all video outputs.
• Assist junior colleagues during execution when needed.
• Handle several projects at once while staying aligned with deadlines.

Skills and Experience Needed

The right candidate should have solid command over Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, along with a strong grasp of editing flow, narrative structure, pacing, and motion graphics. A working knowledge of social media formats and current digital content trends is important, as is familiarity with colour grading, audio editing, and visual composition. The role also requires a high level of ownership, accountability, attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work independently. Good communication and coordination skills are essential.

Preferred Background

Ideally, applicants will bring 2 to 4 years of experience in video editing and motion graphics, along with a degree or diploma in Multimedia, Animation, Visual Communication, or a related discipline. A strong portfolio is mandatory, especially one that demonstrates editing and motion graphics work. Experience creating reels, advertisements, promotional videos, and branded content will be useful.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must already have professional experience in video editing.
• Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects is required.
• Submission of a portfolio or work sample is compulsory.
• Candidates should be prepared to use their own laptop or system for the work.
• Those who can join immediately, or with a short notice period, will have an advantage.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ernakulam, Kerala, India. The opening is for an experienced editor who can contribute creatively, manage multiple deliverables, and support the team with consistent, brand-aligned video production.
