Overview
Mountain Warehouse is recruiting a Store Manager for a brand-new store opening in Papamoa, Bay of Plenty, within the New Zealand retail division. This role is ideal for an experienced retail leader who enjoys building strong teams, improving sales, and ensuring the store runs smoothly day to day.
As the person responsible for the store’s overall performance, you will lead by example, create a positive and motivating atmosphere, and help deliver an excellent shopping experience for every customer.
Leadership and Team Development
- Inspire the team to stay engaged, positive, and committed to high standards.
- Develop a united team culture built around shared goals and a clear direction for success.
- Handle employee relations issues in a proactive and professional way while encouraging learning and growth.
- Keep communication open, direct, and consistent so expectations and trust remain strong across the team.
- Equip colleagues with the guidance, knowledge, and resources needed to provide outstanding customer service.
Store Operations
- Take charge of the store’s daily operations while ensuring processes remain efficient and aligned with company policies.
- Maintain strong standards in visual merchandising and housekeeping to keep the store welcoming and well presented.
- Support a safe workplace by carrying out regular risk checks and maintaining a secure environment for staff and customers.
- Recruit, retain, and develop strong talent so the team remains capable, motivated, and high performing.
Sales and Performance
- Put strategies in place to achieve and surpass sales goals and key performance indicators.
- Apply loss-prevention practices that reduce risk and protect profit.
- Use commercial judgement to make sound decisions, manage budgets responsibly, and deliver steady business results.
Customer Experience
- Set the standard for excellent customer service and ensure every interaction leaves a strong impression.
- Respond thoughtfully to customer feedback and resolve concerns in a way that supports loyalty.
- Represent the brand with professionalism, energy, and a positive public image.
- Build connections with the local community through approachable, engaging actions that encourage long-term loyalty.
