About Innatera
Innatera is a fast-expanding semiconductor company based in the Netherlands that builds highly efficient neuromorphic processors for edge AI. Its microprocessors are designed to imitate how the brain handles rapid sensor data, unlocking advanced sensor-analytics capabilities while delivering up to 10,000x better performance per watt than competing approaches. The company’s technology is aimed at applications in IoT, wearables, embedded systems, and automotive products.
Backed by more than €37m in funding, Innatera is growing quickly with the goal of putting its neuromorphic technology into billions of sensors by 2030. Its purpose is to help create a smarter, safer, and greener world through meaningful innovation.
The team describes itself as ambitious, creative, and fast-moving, with a strong focus on impact, collaboration, and building an environment where people can do great work while also maintaining a healthy life outside the office.
Role overview
As a Staff SoC Verification Engineer, you will help build and improve verification infrastructure for module-level and chip-level work. The role focuses on developing robust verification environments, improving methodology, and ensuring high-quality release readiness across the chip development flow.
What you will do
- Create and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM verification environments for both block-level and full SoC verification.
- Develop test sequences, define coverage strategies, and drive functional coverage to closure.
- Analyze simulation behavior with waveform/debug tools and work with design engineers to resolve defects.
- Advance constrained-random verification methods and continuously refine the verification approach.
- Use modern EDA tools and automation to improve verification speed and quality.
- Support quality assurance activities, release readiness, and alignment between design and test for each chip.
What you need to bring
- At least 8 years of experience in digital verification, including 4+ years using constrained-random verification with UVM.
- At least 2 years of embedded C development work for SoC verification.
- Experience building verification architecture from design specifications and turning them into test plans.
- Ability to convert functional requirements into useful functional coverage models.
- Strong capability in constrained-random stimulus creation and coverage analysis/closure.
- Deep experience with root-cause analysis and debugging SystemVerilog RTL.
- Ability to script in Python or a similar language.
- Working knowledge of Linux, bash, or comparable environments.
- Hands-on experience with commercial EDA tools.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Practical knowledge of UVM architecture, including vertical reuse of lower-level UVCs and environments.
- Experience with mixed-language simulation and system-level modeling.
- Experience estimating effort, planning projects, scheduling work, and tracking progress.
- Ability to guide and mentor a small team.
Nice to have
- Experience with SystemC modeling and simulation.
- Familiarity with UPF and low-power verification techniques.
- Exposure to formal verification methods.
- Hands-on FPGA validation and bring-up experience.
- Experience with full-chip emulation and bring-up.
- Knowledge of OpenOCD and GDB for software-driven verification.
- Background in SystemVerilog RTL design.
Why join Innatera
- Competitive compensation.
- Pension coverage.
- Flexible working setup, including work-from-home policy and flexible hours; if working in the Netherlands, the office expectation is 3 days per week, or the role can be performed fully remotely.
- Generous holiday entitlement.
- Collaborative, ambitious colleagues with room to innovate.
- An inclusive culture that values openness, curiosity, and professional growth.
- Office amenities such as fresh fruit, snacks, and an on-site gym.
- Statutory commuting or home-office allowance.
