Role overview

This position sits inside Retail Operations and acts as the go-to specialist for scheduling tools, labor planning, and payroll budget control. The role is responsible for detailed analysis, workload planning, and close collaboration with Finance to build store labor budgets.

Key partnerships

You will work closely with store teams, Finance, and the APLA organization, serving as a communication bridge across functions. The role expects frequent interaction with leaders to align on labor, operational priorities, and change initiatives.

What the role requires

• At least 2 years of directly related experience in retail management, retail operations analysis, finance, or project management.
• A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent mix of education, experience, or training. A high school qualification plus 3 to 5 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
• Strong command of Word, PowerPoint or Keynote, and advanced Excel capability.
• Exposure to store operations or corporate operations work, along with a practical understanding of workforce management solutions such as scheduling and forecasting tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, plus the ability to manage stakeholders and influence decisions.
• Interest in learning new technology, especially tools used for scheduling and forecasting.

What you will do

• Support continuous improvement in store labor planning, scheduling, and broader operational performance.
• Track and control budgets and expenses, with a specific focus on payroll, labor scheduling, and labor systems.
• Work with Finance to define budget targets and support the Director of Stores in driving accountability across stores.
• Maintain and administer workforce management and operational excellence systems so they remain current and effective.
• Help roll out new capabilities in scheduling, staffing, workload planning, and operational measurement.
• Communicate regularly with stores and territory leadership to keep execution aligned.
• Spot operational friction points and collaborate with the APLA Retail Operations team to improve processes and working methods.
