Role overview
Join the FBI as a special agent and put an accounting or finance background to work on investigations that support national security and public safety. This position is exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze. In this role, you will go beyond traditional financial work by applying analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and technical expertise to complex cases involving cyber threats, terrorism, fraud, and other emerging risks.
The role offers specialized training, hands-on investigative exposure, access to advanced tools, and opportunities to strengthen financial analysis and account reconciliation capabilities while building leadership experience in a mission-driven environment.
What you'll do
- Lead and assist in investigations involving potential violations of federal law, cybersecurity incidents, and public safety matters.
- Use sound judgment, adaptability, and initiative to address changing investigative needs.
- Build and sustain working relationships with local, state, federal, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement partners.
- Maintain the physical conditioning needed to carry out law enforcement responsibilities effectively.

Salary
The pay range for this role is $103,236 to $133,200 per year. Compensation may vary based on base pay, locality pay, and availability pay.

Education
