Skilled Caregiver

Overview

Griswold Home Care for NEPA is hiring an experienced caregiver/home health aide in Scranton, PA. This role is designed for someone who can confidently support clients with more complex needs, including dementia, behavioral concerns, and advanced mobility limitations. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and getting around safely
• Support individuals living with cognitive or behavioral challenges, including dementia
• Offer warm companionship and meaningful engagement
• Handle light cleaning and help maintain a tidy, safe home environment
• Respond calmly and appropriately when unexpected situations or emergencies arise

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of professional caregiving experience
• Prior exposure to dementia care or challenging client behaviors is preferred
• A valid driver’s license and current auto insurance are preferred, though reliable transportation is acceptable
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Two professional references are required
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
