Role overview

Howe Sound Pulp & Paper Corporation is hiring for entry-level labourer roles. These labour-pool positions may be deployed across different parts of the mill depending on operational needs. The work can include housekeeping, operating equipment, and carrying out other general mill tasks as required. Priorities may change based on the most urgent assignment.

This role is suited to someone who can handle the demands of a 24/7 industrial operation. It involves 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Key duties

The main focus of the role is maintaining a clean and safe work area, following health, safety, and environmental requirements, and completing additional tasks as assigned.

Work conditions and physical demands

Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, and the successful candidate must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. The role requires repeated manual effort over long periods, including standing for extended hours, walking, shoveling, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting. The job also involves working with or near machinery and equipment.

Selection process
