Role overview
The Shift Lead is a seasoned store team member who handles advanced, high-impact work to improve the customer experience and supports store leadership when required. This role blends hands-on retail operations with administrative follow-through in a fast-moving environment where teamwork, precision, and accountability matter. In this store culture, everyone contributes to daily operations, including stocking, cleaning, and keeping the location running smoothly.
This position is eligible for an additional $3.00 per hour premium for qualifying shifts, along with a starting rate of $20.00 per hour.
Key duties
- Maintain Lidl’s expectations for store cleanliness, product freshness, in-stock levels, and customer care across the location.
- Lead scheduled shifts when the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is unavailable, keeping operations organized and efficient while helping with front-end movement and addressing customer issues.
- When serving in the Shift Lead capacity, complete important operational work such as receiving inventory, monitoring cold-chain compliance, handling safe product procedures, processing price updates and returns, placing orders, and managing timekeeping tasks.
- Carry out stock-handling procedures, including inventory intake, write-offs, and returns, to support product availability and limit shrink.
- Drive timely, accurate completion of priorities by staying focused and setting the standard for the team during the shift.
- Move between operational needs such as stocking, cleaning, and promotional merchandising based on store demand.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
- Work authorization in the United States is required.
- Must be able to earn and keep ServSafe certification.
- Must be able to earn and maintain any state-required alcohol license, if applicable.
