Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer based in Christchurch, you will collaborate with the development team to solve challenging problems and build robust, elegant software. Your main focus will be on maintaining and advancing mission-critical systems in our core SaaS and API platform, ensuring scalability, fault tolerance, and accuracy for our users.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, reliable systems integral to Partly’s SaaS and API platforms.
• Ensure high reliability and fault-tolerance in software features.
• Create seamless experiences for business users on the Partly platform.
• Contribute to and promote software development best practices within the team.
• Develop domain expertise in the complex and under-explored automotive parts industry.

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience designing and implementing complex software applications.
• Strong foundations in computer science principles such as data structures, concurrency, system architecture, API development, software testing, and design patterns.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
• Proficient with database design, including both relational and NoSQL systems.
• Experience creating distributed, reliable systems.
• Preferred: knowledge of automotive parts domain.
• Bonus: familiarity with the Rust programming language.
