Job overview
MAC.BID purchases truckloads of customer returns and surplus merchandise, then offers those products one by one to the public through online auctions. In this role, the Scanline Floater gets products ready and placed for the scan team, then clears scanned items and stores them according to the company’s inventory process. The position reports to the Scan Team Lead or Mobile Scan Team Lead.
Key duties
- Check incoming items for visible damage or other clear defects.
- Sort each item into the appropriate condition category: Like New, Open Box, or Damaged.
- Carry out basic testing on electronic items to judge their general working condition.
- Place merchandise onto the conveyor so scanners can process it.
- Remove items from the scanning area promptly after they have been scanned.
- Move products into the correct bays and arrange them on shelves by auction and lot number.
- Support the team in achieving its volume and quality targets.
- Sweep the area and clear trash from empty bays and the mobile scan space.
- Handle any other work assigned by management.
Working schedule and job class
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. The role is onsite and requires availability Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Qualifications
Candidates should be comfortable working with technology, able to follow written instructions and company rules, and capable of staying on their feet for long periods. Applicants must also be able to lift 25 pounds on their own and 50 pounds as part of a team lift. A high school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
