About Voltus
Voltus is a technology platform and virtual power plant operator focused on distributed energy resources. Its platform links these resources to electricity markets with the goal of delivering electricity that is cheaper, more dependable, and more sustainable. The company looks for teammates who are smart, resilient, and principled, and who are motivated by the transition to a cleaner energy future.
Role Overview
Voltus is expanding quickly, and sales training and enablement is considered essential to supporting that growth. The company is seeking a Sales Training Lead who can combine content creation, program management, and facilitation. In this role, you would own the systems, materials, and learning experiences that help the sales team succeed from the first day onward.
This is a high-visibility remote position with significant autonomy. The role goes beyond delivering training sessions; it is responsible for building and managing the infrastructure that supports them.
Onboarding Experience
You will design and continuously improve a structured 90-day onboarding journey for new sales hires. The program should help them understand the sales process, product, market, and company culture. Responsibilities include creating resources, cheat sheets, and role-based guides, coordinating with regional sales leaders, and preparing individualized coaching plans at the end of each onboarding cycle.
Sales Playbooks and Content
You will own the development and upkeep of core sales materials such as playbooks, talk tracks, objection-handling resources, competitive summaries, and process documentation. These materials must remain accurate, easy to use, and regularly refreshed based on what is working in the field.
Monthly and Ongoing Training Programs
You will plan and lead a recurring training calendar for the entire sales organization. This includes live remote and in-person sessions, skill-building workshops, and course-based learning for both foundational and advanced topics as the team and market evolve. You will also run the Flight School program, which is designed to help sales associates build the capabilities needed to become Sales Directors.
Learning Management System
You will manage the Lessonly LMS end to end. That includes creating and grading courses, monitoring completion and performance, and keeping the content library up to date and well organized.
Training Gaps and Continuous Improvement
You will evaluate the effectiveness of existing training by listening to sales calls, reviewing metrics, collecting feedback, and partnering closely with sales leadership. Based on those insights, you will improve content, launch new programs, or recommend process changes.
Cross-Functional Work
As business needs change, you will also contribute to enablement efforts beyond core training. This may include support for new product introductions, process rollouts, alignment initiatives across departments, and other projects that help the sales team perform at a higher level.
Why This Role Matters
This position plays a key part in helping new employees ramp faster, keeping the sales team aligned, and ensuring the company’s sales approach remains consistent and competitive while it scales. Voltus operates in a market that changes frequently due to regulation and competition. As the business continues to grow rapidly year over year, the company needs strong talent to help hire, onboard, and retain people who can support its mission of advancing the fight against climate change.
What We’re Looking For
- Background in sales, sales training, or sales enablement
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage programs and content, not only deliver them
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to simplify complex topics into practical materials
- Comfort owning projects independently from concept through execution
- Experience using a learning management system is preferred
- Strong presentation and facilitation ability, both in person and virtually
- Ability to adapt training to different learning preferences and personality styles
- Alignment with the company values of being Bright, Gritty, and Good
- Willingness to travel occasionally for in-person training efforts
Work Authorization and Location Rules
Voltus does not currently provide visa sponsorship or transfer support for new hires. Candidates must already be authorized to work from their home location, which is generally expected to be in the US or Canada unless the role description states otherwise.
Although Voltus is fully remote, there are restrictions on employee work locations for regulatory and security reasons. Employees are expected to work primarily from their home country. Any work while traveling internationally must follow the company’s Global Remote Travel Policy and receive approval.
Equal Opportunity and Hiring Process
Voltus is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building a diverse candidate pool. The company does not tolerate discrimination and provides equal employment opportunities regardless of gender identity, race, nationality, religion, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability status, or marital status.
The company may use artificial intelligence tools to help with parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or checking responses for possible inconsistencies or verification signals. These tools support the recruitment team but do not replace human judgment, and final hiring decisions are made by people. Candidates who want more information about data processing can contact the company.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this role is $100,000 to $135,000 per year, depending on experience. The position also includes a 10% annual bonus and equity.
Full-time employees receive benefits that include unlimited leave, parental leave, and a comprehensive package designed to support health, wellness, and financial security.
