Role overview

Join the Yeovil Depot as a Rental Agent within the Vehicle Hire Division. This position sits at the centre of a fast-expanding operation that supplies a broad range of light commercial vehicles to a varied client portfolio, including major corporations, public sector bodies, and medium-sized businesses. In this customer-facing role, you will be the main day-to-day contact for clients and depot colleagues, helping to build strong commercial relationships while supporting enquiries, offering guidance, and recommending relevant products and services. The role offers a starting salary of £29,500 per year, along with a bonus linked to performance.

What you will do

• Process bookings accurately across the relevant systems and manage the issue and collection of paperwork where required.
• Develop new business and strengthen existing accounts through professional communication by email and phone.
• Handle customer calls, resolve queries, provide advice and information, and suggest suitable company offerings.
• Complete the paperwork connected to vehicle movements, handovers, transfers, and yard inspections.
• Maintain a professional, welcoming, and customer-friendly presence when dealing with clients on site.
• Prepare rental quotations correctly, follow up on quotes, and actively chase responses.

What you need

• Substantial experience in a busy, high-pressure agent-style role, ideally gained in the vehicle hire sector.
• The ability to stay effective in a changing environment and work well both alone and with others.
• Strong accuracy and a careful approach to paperwork, inspections, and vehicle handovers.
• Confident communication skills for dealing with customers clearly, politely, and efficiently.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts to cover branch operating hours.
• A valid driving licence and at least 12 months of driving experience.
