Role overview
We are looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor for clients delivering major industrial, warehousing, distribution, and infrastructure projects in Dublin and the nearby region. This role is central to commercial management, cost oversight, procurement, and contract administration across several busy projects. It is a permanent, full-time position.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the commercial and contractual elements of logistics and industrial construction assignments.
- Develop accurate cost plans, budgets, and tender packages.
- Carry out cost studies and value engineering to improve project margins.
- Handle subcontractor sourcing, negotiation, and appointment activities.
- Track project expenditure, cash flow projections, and financial performance throughout the project cycle.
- Prepare, review, and assess interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Ensure all work aligns with contract terms and internal commercial processes.
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain strong commercial control.
- Spot financial and contractual risks and put practical mitigation measures in place.
- Contribute to dispute handling and claims support when needed.
- Keep precise records of costs, change instructions, and commercial communications.
- Help compile monthly commercial reports for senior leadership.
- Support the delivery of projects within approved budgets and financial targets.
Experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate should hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a closely related field. A minimum of 6 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor position is required, preferably gained in construction, logistics, industrial, or specialist contracting environments. Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and commercial management is essential. Experience on large logistics, warehousing, distribution centre, or industrial projects will be a significant advantage.
