Quality Engineer

About the role

This position is for a civil quality engineer who will oversee quality assurance and quality control work for civil activities linked to substation buildings, high-speed rail, and railway electrification projects. The role focuses on making sure construction output matches approved drawings, contract specifications, and applicable quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the Project Quality Plan at the project site and keep it actively followed.
• Carry out routine quality checks for substation structures, road works, and associated civil works.
• Verify that execution aligns with approved drawings, technical specifications, and the relevant IS/IRC codes.
• Observe, validate, and document testing of materials and site work such as concrete tests, soil tests, and compaction checks.
• Create, track, update, and review QA/QC records including Inspection Requests, Non-Conformance Reports, Material Approval Requests, and test documentation.
• Work closely with construction teams, clients, consultants, and third-party inspection bodies to keep quality activities on track.
• Assist with internal and external audits and support corrective action closure.

Qualifications and experience

The role is intended for candidates with a civil engineering background. A B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering is preferred, while diploma candidates may also be considered if they bring relevant experience. Prior exposure to railway, metro, highway, or substation civil projects is expected.

Required skills

Candidates should have a solid grasp of civil QA/QC practices, familiarity with applicable IS/IRC standards, the ability to interpret drawings and technical documents, working knowledge of MS Office and quality record systems, and strong coordination and communication abilities.

Preferred background

Experience on 25kV railway electrification projects, high-speed rail, or other large infrastructure assignments will be an added advantage.
