Planning Engineer / Planning Consultant

Role overview

This opportunity is for an experienced Planning Engineer / Planning Consultant to support a major hospitality-led mixed-use development in Doha, Qatar. The role sits within the main contractor’s project team and is based on site.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and refresh the project schedule at baseline, current, and near-term levels using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Track project advancement and prepare progress updates, S-curves, and productivity analysis.
• Perform critical path review and resource assessment, while flagging schedule risks and bottlenecks.
• Build 2–4 week look-ahead plans and work closely with site execution teams to align activities.
• Develop and update dashboards and MIS reporting tools in Excel, Power BI, and Primavera for management visibility.
• Prepare regular planning and progress submissions for project leadership and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate programme alignment with commercial, QA/QC, HSE, billing, and site teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in planning and scheduling on major construction projects, preferably in hospitality, high-rise, or infrastructure environments.
• Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, and MS Office; experience with pivots, dashboards, and macros is an advantage.
• Exposure to Power BI and Asta Powerproject will be considered a plus.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and schedule/progress control.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• Must hold a valid Qatar NOC or transferable residence visa.
• Immediate joiners are strongly preferred.

Additional information

This is a 6-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The position is based in Doha, Qatar, and on-site attendance is required. Candidates with Qatar NOC or a transferable visa will be given preference. Immediate availability is highly desirable.
