Key responsibilities

  • Assess and treat patients and residents through physiotherapy to support recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Work to improve mobility, independence, and overall quality of life by restoring movement and functional ability.
  • Rotate across Community Hospital, Chronic Sick Unit, Nursing Home, and Senior Care Centre settings as required.
  • Complete detailed assessments of mobility, transfers, walking ability, and functional status.
  • Create, carry out, review, and adjust personalised treatment plans and rehabilitation goals.
  • Provide interventions such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, functional retraining, gait and balance work, and the use of assistive devices.
  • Teach patients and caregivers, and coordinate closely with doctors and allied health colleagues.
  • Keep clinical notes and patient documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Take part in multidisciplinary discussions and discharge planning.
  • Guide Therapy Aides and supervise students on clinical placement when needed.
  • Follow the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
  • Protect patient privacy and maintain professional standards.
  • Join department meetings, training sessions, quality improvement efforts, and hospital-wide initiatives.
  • Observe health and safety requirements and complete mandatory training.

Requirements
