Role Overview

The organization is looking for a caring and capable Personal Caregiver to support clients with day-to-day needs while maintaining their comfort, safety, and overall well-being.

Key Duties

• Deliver household support such as cleaning, meal preparation, laundry, and general home management.
• Provide companionship and support clients when attending community outings, activities, and events.
• Carry out personal care tasks according to the care plan.
• Promote the emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort and safety of each client.
• Help clients with daily living activities based on their individual needs.
• Perform assigned specialized procedures when training has been completed and competency is current.
• Monitor client condition, keep records in line with company standards, and notify the Supervisor or Office promptly about any unusual events or changes in condition.
• Follow infection prevention and control practices at all times.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited caregiver training program, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Solid understanding of caregiving principles and customer service.
• Effective spoken and written English communication; French is considered an advantage.
• Ability to provide high-quality community care based on current practices.
• Physical ability to assist with movement and repositioning, and to lift up to 23 kg while also squatting, bending, standing, and reaching.
• Reliable transportation; a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are assets.
• Ability to provide a clear criminal background check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
