Role Overview
The People Partner is responsible for driving business-specific culture, engagement, and people initiatives. This role works closely with regional HR teams to support the functions and business units it serves. In the U.S., it owns end-to-end employee relations, risk handling, and workplace issue management, while also connecting strategic insight with day-to-day execution and local delivery.
The role acts as a dependable advisor to managers, a practical owner of employee relations processes, and a link between company-wide programs and the realities of the local business.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will manage employee relations cases, advise managers, deliver people programs, and surface workforce insights that help guide business decisions.
- Lead U.S. employee relations case management from start to finish, including performance concerns, workplace disputes, investigations, and terminations.
- Work with Legal and HR leadership on complicated or higher-risk employee matters.
- Drive timely, fair, consistent, and compliant resolution of ER issues.
- Spot recurring patterns and early warning signs that may indicate organizational risk.
- Provide immediate guidance to managers on performance management and employee issues.
- Coach managers so they handle sensitive situations more consistently and grow their people-management capability over time.
- Adapt company engagement and culture initiatives into actions that make sense for the business.
- Partner with business leaders to identify engagement gaps and implement targeted responses.
- Support team engagement activities, local culture programs, and follow-through on survey findings such as eNPS.
- Help execute core HR programs, including performance cycles, compensation processes, and engagement initiatives.
- Ensure programs are delivered consistently while still being adjusted for business needs where appropriate.
- Track workforce signals such as attrition, team structure, team dynamics, capacity, and workload.
- Share relevant insights with Site Leads, HR leadership, and Transformation teams.
What You Bring
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in HR, People Partner, HR Business Partner, or Employee Relations roles, with ownership of complex ER matters.
- Strong hands-on experience handling U.S.-based employee relations cases involving performance, conflict, investigations, accommodations, and terminations.
- Solid working knowledge of U.S. employment law, compliance requirements, risk management, and employee relations best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and coach managers through difficult employee situations with sound judgment, consistency, and discretion.
- Experience collaborating with Legal, HR leadership, business leaders, and regional HR teams on sensitive or high-risk people matters.
- Ability to recognize trends, flag organizational risk, and turn insights into practical manager advice or business actions.
- Experience supporting HR programs such as performance management, compensation cycles, engagement initiatives, and culture-building work.
- Ability to combine strategic awareness with strong execution in a fast-moving, changing environment.
- Excellent communication, documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in distributed, multi-site, or global organizations is preferred.
- Background in a technology company or supporting technology-focused client groups is strongly preferred.
