Role Summary
This full-time, on-site Pastry Chef position is based in the Doha Metropolitan Area and focuses on creating a wide range of pastries, baked items, and desserts for hotel dining venues, events, and in-room dining. The position involves running the pastry section efficiently, following recipes closely, keeping output consistent in taste and presentation, and preparing all required mise en place.
Key Duties
In this role, you will oversee pastry production from preparation through final presentation, while maintaining strong standards for quality, storage, cleanliness, and food safety. You will also work with the wider culinary team to introduce new items and seasonal selections, train junior kitchen staff, manage ingredient stock, and coordinate with other departments to ensure service is delivered on time.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should bring strong hands-on experience in bakery and pastry work, along with the ability to prepare desserts and artisanal baked goods. A solid foundation in food preparation and cooking is needed, including mise en place, portion control, and plating. Advanced pastry knowledge, such as technique, flavor combinations, and menu creation, is also important. Experience in hotels, restaurants, or patisseries is preferred. Formal culinary or pastry training, certification, or apprenticeship will be considered an advantage. A clear understanding of food hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP practices is essential, as is the ability to handle flexible shifts, work efficiently under pressure, and communicate well within a diverse team.
Working Conditions
