Role Overview

BNP Paribas is hiring for an Operations Analyst internship within its India Solutions team. BNP Paribas India Solutions, established in 2005, is a wholly owned subsidiary of BNP Paribas SA. It functions as a 24x7 global delivery center with delivery locations in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Mumbai. The India Solutions operations function supports three business lines across the group: Corporate and Institutional Banking, Investment Solutions, and Retail Banking.

About the Operations Team

The operations group delivers end-to-end services for global clients across Asia, Europe, the US, and other regions. This includes custody, fund accounting, trade clearing, AML/KYC, corporate actions, and related operational support.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to candidates holding any graduate degree, with a minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree.

Functional and Behavioral Requirements

• Understand the basics of banking compliance, including AML, sanctions, embargoes, and trade finance rules, and use that awareness to spot and address possible risks.
• Have familiarity with core banking products such as loans, deposits, guarantees, letters of credit, and overdrafts, along with a broad understanding of market instruments like equities, bonds, FX, prime, rates, and treasury.
• Be comfortable reading simple balance sheet and P&L information and reconciling two sets of figures while identifying and explaining mismatches.
• Know the basic workflow of domestic and cross-border payments, including SWIFT/ISO 20022, RTGS, ACH, and the documentation used for trade finance transactions.
• Use Excel for analysis, communicate clearly in writing and speaking, and work effectively with teams across different geographies.
• Show strong attention to detail by checking data carefully and catching discrepancies early to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Be quick to learn and adaptable enough to build practical knowledge of core concepts, procedures, and workflows on the job.

Internship Details

This is a 4-month internship based in office, with a 5-day work week. The role requires shift work across APAC, EMEA, and US time zones. The locations mentioned are Mumbai, Chennai, and Bangalore, while the listed job location is the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
