New Product Introduction Engineer

Position Summary

The New Product Introduction Engineer is responsible for creating and qualifying semiconductor assembly processes for customer products that are moving toward manufacturing. This position owns process development for die bonding, wire bonding, and related assembly steps, with the goal of making each process stable, repeatable, and ready to hand over to production.

New Product Introduction

• Drive the engineering qualification of newly developed customer products.
• Study customer drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and production requirements in detail.
• Evaluate whether a product can be manufactured efficiently and suggest the most suitable assembly approach.
• Build the manufacturing sequence for each new product.
• Set the criteria used to accept a process and the requirements needed for qualification.

Process Development

• Develop and refine die bonding and wire bonding methods.
• Determine operating limits and stable process settings.
• Write and maintain machine programs for die bond and wire bond equipment.
• Improve supporting assembly steps such as dispensing, curing, plasma cleaning, and other related operations.
• Test and assess new materials, fixtures, tooling, and consumables.

Process Validation

• Plan and run Design of Experiments activities.
• Carry out engineering validation builds.
• Review process capability data and qualification outcomes.
• Identify the critical process variables that must be controlled.
• Set up the process controls required before products are released for production.

Customer Technical Support

• Join technical discussions with customers throughout project execution.
• Contribute to Design for Manufacturability reviews.
• Prepare engineering summaries and technical presentations.
• Support customer qualification builds and technical audit activities.
• Offer technical guidance and recommendations during product development.

Engineering Documentation

• Draft process specifications and related documentation.
• Create machine setup sheets and process recipes.
• Prepare engineering reports and qualification reports.
• Develop initial work instructions for the process.
• Assist with PFMEA and Control Plan preparation.
