Role Overview
Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. is hiring a Multi-Lines Claims Adjuster for its St. John's, Newfoundland team. The position follows a hybrid working arrangement. In this role, you will assess claims by carrying out loss investigations and negotiating settlements in line with provincial licensing standards, while also supporting production goals and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine multi-line claims and determine the extent of losses.
- Review and interpret findings from external experts and specialists.
- Choose appropriate independent experts and coordinate their involvement.
- Keep expense records accurate and up to date.
- Partner with the manager to support and strengthen client relationships.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with brokers, risk managers, legal counsel, regulators, and others across the insurance sector.
Qualifications
- Between 2 and 5 years of hands-on technical and functional experience in an insurance setting.
- Either an independent adjusting licence or active progress toward CIP designation.
- Background in property or bodily injury claims is preferred, though candidates with other claims experience will also be considered.
- Post-secondary education in an insurance-related discipline is viewed as an advantage.
- Working familiarity with Xactimate and XactAnalysis is beneficial.
- Strong computer and reporting ability, including experience with Office 365 and Windows 10.
- Capability to handle several priorities at once.
- Team-oriented attitude with excellent customer service skills.
