Role overview
THE PIG is seeking a Mid-Weight Interior Designer to help develop and refine the interiors across its expanding collection of hotels. The role focuses on creating layered, distinctive spaces that reflect each property’s setting, heritage, and personality while staying true to the brand’s characterful aesthetic.
Location and working pattern
This position is based at the Head Office in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, with travel required across the UK and to hotel sites. The working pattern is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary
The annual salary is £35,000 to £40,000, depending on experience.
Application note
Applicants who are shortlisted will need to provide a digital portfolio as part of the selection process.
Key responsibilities
- Create interior concepts, FF&E plans, and material palettes for new openings and refurbishment projects.
- Select furniture, lighting, textiles, artwork, and decorative accessories that suit THE PIG’s visual identity.
- Track down antique, vintage, and custom-made pieces to help build spaces with a unique feel.
- Prepare mood boards, presentations, room layouts, and detailed FF&E schedules.
- Manage finishes, fabrics, and detailing so the brand look remains consistent.
- Support project delivery by working with suppliers, contractors, and on-site teams.
- Take part in site visits, installations, and design reviews.
- Develop productive relationships with suppliers, makers, and craftspeople.
- Assist with budget control while protecting design quality.
- Work closely with design, procurement, and operational colleagues.
What the role calls for
- Hands-on interior designer with a strong sense of storytelling and attention to detail.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in interior design, ideally within hospitality or high-end residential work.
- Strong working knowledge of FF&E sourcing, specification, and procurement.
- Ability to produce polished presentations, schedules, and technical documents.
- Good understanding of materials, finishes, furniture, and fabrics.
- Proficiency in InDesign, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office; SketchUp is an advantage.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to juggle several projects and deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience collaborating with architects, contractors, and consultants.
Who you are
- Genuinely interested in interiors, antiques, and craftsmanship.
- Have a strong eye for layered, atmospheric design.
- Curious, resourceful, and proactive in your approach.
- Work well with others and adapt easily to changing needs.
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working on site, in studios, and in sourcing settings.
- Motivated by developing an established brand rather than imposing a personal style.
Why this opportunity stands out
You will join a creative, close-knit team responsible for some of the UK’s most distinctive hotel environments. The business values individuality, collaboration, and a fun working culture, and no two projects are the same.
Benefits and perks
