Manufacturing Data Analyst

Role overview

This opportunity is for an Excel specialist with substantial experience in manufacturing to help improve the quality of advanced spreadsheet training data. The work is highly analytical and requires practical, real-world knowledge that can directly support next-generation model training.

Key work

• Create realistic Excel exercises rooted in manufacturing workflows, including production planning, bill of materials and inventory models, overall equipment effectiveness analysis, cost of goods sold modeling, and supply-and-demand forecasting.
• Develop solutions that are accurate, structured clearly, and reflect the standards of professional Excel work.
• Review assignments and answers, then provide precise written feedback that addresses gaps and improves quality.
• Work with subject matter experts to keep outputs aligned and technically correct across the training set.
• Coordinate with research teams to spot missing areas and help strengthen model performance on difficult, domain-specific Excel tasks.

Ideal background

• Strong Excel capability in a professional setting, including XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, dynamic arrays, PivotTables, Power Query, Power Pivot, data modeling, dashboards, and macros/VBA.
• Direct work experience using Excel in manufacturing operations or related environments.
• Excellent analytical thinking and written communication, with the ability to explain reasoning clearly and accurately.
• A proven record of career growth and experience solving complex spreadsheet problems in real business situations.
• Ability to commit reliably for at least 20 hours per week on weekdays.

Compensation and work setup

The pay range for this contract assignment is $70 to $100 per hour. The role is fully remote and structured as contingent/contract work with W-2 employment.
