Role overview
The organisation is seeking a Maintenance Manager to be based in the Carlow office and take ownership of the maintenance function. This role carries responsibility for leading engineers who deliver preventative and reactive maintenance services across fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, gate automation and electrical compliance services across Ireland.
The position involves making sure all systems are serviced within required intervals, contractual commitments, service level agreements and applicable industry requirements, while maintaining strong customer satisfaction and supporting growth in the maintenance and monitoring business.
Responsibilities
- Own the operational and commercial results of the maintenance division.
- Manage, coach and develop service engineers and support personnel.
- Ensure all contracted systems are serviced within the required intervals, SLA commitments and applicable industry standards.
- Allocate engineer resources and schedule workloads for nationwide preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Track engineer utilisation, productivity, response times and overall service performance.
- Carry out site assessments and prepare quotations, contract renewals and service proposals.
- Handle customer relationships and serve as the main escalation contact for service issues.
- Help grow recurring maintenance and monitoring revenue through renewals, upgrades and additional opportunities.
- Monitor departmental KPIs, forecasting, resource planning and contract performance.
- Support maintenance tenders, service proposals and wider business development efforts.
- Oversee subcontractor delivery, compliance and performance.
- Promote continuous improvement in service quality, health and safety, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a Maintenance Manager, Service Manager or comparable leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of security systems, CCTV, access control, fire alarms and life safety systems.
- Demonstrated success managing service engineers, maintenance contracts and SLAs.
- Good commercial judgement and strong customer relationship management skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational capabilities.
- Competence with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A full, clean driving licence is required.
- Experience with Simpro, Joblogic or similar service management platforms would be an advantage.
- Understanding of relevant Irish security, fire alarm, emergency lighting and health and safety standards, regulations and best practice.
- Candidates must already be based in Ireland and have the right to live and work without restriction, as visa sponsorship is not available.
