Role Overview
The Logistics & Operations Lead is responsible for managing Autobia’s inbound and outbound logistics across fulfillment centers. This includes making sure purchase orders are collected from suppliers on time and customer orders are delivered within the expected timelines. The position also oversees fleet assets, external transport partners, daily logistics performance, and risk reduction across operations.
In addition to logistics ownership, this role serves as a backup leader within the operations function. The person will support the Operations Manager with day-to-day issues, step into that position when needed, and handle government-related transactions for the operations department.
Work location is Riyadh or Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Core Responsibilities
- Direct end-to-end inbound and outbound logistics activities across Autobia’s fulfillment centers.
- Manage two teams through their supervisors by setting priorities, expectations, and performance standards while helping strengthen team capability.
- Make sure supplier collections happen on schedule and customer deliveries are completed on time.
- Ensure delivery orders are initiated, tracked, and recorded accurately in the system.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with shipping companies, transport providers, and third-party carriers.
- Track logistics service levels and address or escalate any performance shortfalls.
- Identify operational risks such as delays, capacity limits, supplier pickup failures, and fleet shortages, then take action to reduce them.
- Lower damage and loss rates in transit through better carrier choice, handling controls, and loading or packaging practices.
- Find, evaluate, and onboard more reliable logistics partners, and negotiate better contract terms including pricing, service levels, liability, and damage responsibility.
- Review carrier performance continuously and shift volumes toward providers with stronger performance and lower risk.
- Oversee fleet assets across the full lifecycle, including usage, maintenance planning, compliance, and cost control.
- Plan fleet replacement and deployment cycles to preserve capacity and optimize total ownership cost.
- Improve routing to reduce cost, travel distance, and delivery time across inbound and outbound movements.
- Increase trip-level loading efficiency to reduce the number of trips and overall logistics spend.
- Use technology and data to improve visibility, timely delivery initiation, and accurate event recording.
- Support the Operations Manager in resolving daily operational concerns across fulfillment and logistics.
- Act on behalf of the Operations Manager during absences to maintain continuity in operations and decisions.
- Represent Autobia in government transactions related to the operations function.
- Coordinate with procurement, sales, and fulfillment teams to keep logistics aligned with wider operational goals.
- Maintain operational dashboards, reports, and KPI trackers, updating them regularly.
- Gather, review, and interpret operational data to spot trends, risks, and improvement areas.
- Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for management.
- Document SOPs, work instructions, and process maps for logistics and operations processes.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action plans for repeat operational issues.
- Support continuous improvement work and operational audits to help ensure company standards are followed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a similar field.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations.
- Experience leading teams through supervisors or team leads.
- Hands-on background in inbound and outbound logistics as well as fleet operations.
- Strong familiarity with Saudi government and regulatory processes linked to logistics and operations is preferred.
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Metabase is an added advantage.
