Role overview
Kilsaran is hiring a Logistics Coordinator for its Brownstown plant in Kilcullen, Co. Kildare. This position is suited to someone energetic, committed, and eager to grow a career in logistics within a supportive team environment. The post involves coordinating transport and delivery activity so that shipments run smoothly and customer commitments are met. You will work closely with production, drivers, customers, and sales colleagues to keep schedules on track and to flag any delays early.
Learning and development
In this role, you will build your knowledge through practical experience on Kilsaran’s processes and day-to-day operations, supported by tailored learning from internal or external resources.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage the most efficient daily transport and delivery plans.
- Handle incoming orders by phone, email, fax, in person, or through the sales team.
- Produce delivery dockets, organise schedules, and assign drivers to deliveries.
- Make sure customers receive the correct products and the right quantities.
- Confirm that all orders are delivered within the agreed time limits.
- Keep accurate daily shipping documentation and records.
- Complete and maintain paperwork connected to payment transactions.
- Maintain clear, ongoing communication with drivers, customers, production, and sales teams.
- Track and work toward targets linked to truck usage, cost control, and minimising empty journeys.
- Give drivers clear instructions regarding working hours, break times, and rest requirements.
Skills and experience
