Junior Credit Analyst

Role overview

Extantia is looking for a Junior Credit Analyst to own important parts of the company’s underwriting and portfolio activities across both consumer and business lending. In this role, you will help refine credit decisions, contribute to the scaling of risk operations, and take responsibility for independent day-to-day underwriting work as transaction volumes increase.

Key responsibilities

• Handle credit assessments for end customers as well as installer and partner businesses.
• Evaluate financial records, application details, and relevant risk signals against established underwriting criteria.
• Approve or decline applications within the limits assigned to your role.
• Follow internal risk rules and underwriting standards to ensure compliant decisions.
• Spot unusual patterns, warning signs, or suspected fraud and escalate them when needed.
• Contribute ideas and support changes that improve underwriting and operational workflows.
• Keep data accurate and well maintained in systems that support risk decisions.
• Collaborate with the Risk team to help ensure smooth daily operations.

What we’re looking for

You should have 1 to 3 years of experience in credit risk, underwriting, or lending operations. Experience with business underwriting is important, while consumer underwriting is a plus. The role suits someone who is highly analytical, comfortable working with financial information, and able to make structured decisions. Strong precision, accountability, and a disciplined way of working are essential. Advanced Excel skills are needed, and you should thrive in a fast-moving, high-growth setting. English at minimum C1 level is required; fluency in German would be an advantage.
