Jr. Engineer - Quality (RGU)

Role overview

This position is for a Junior Quality Engineer supporting production-quality activities at the Hyderabad site. The role focuses on maintaining safe operations, verifying product and material quality, strengthening quality assurance systems, and driving continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Safety responsibilities

• Promote and sustain a strong safety-first mindset by consistently following safe work methods.
• Carry out risk assessments, environmental aspect-impact reviews, and hazard identification/risk evaluation exercises for safety, health, and environmental management.
• Spot, assess, and escalate risks and hazards, then record them in the ERP system for follow-up and mitigation.

Quality control responsibilities

• Check parts during production and after completion to confirm they meet specified quality requirements.
• Inspect incoming materials and raw inputs to confirm supplier quality and material conformity.
• Perform first article inspection and new product development inspections during validation, setup, and prove-out stages.
• Take part in daily non-conformance discussions, determine the underlying causes, and support corrective and preventive action implementation.
• Maintain records for rejection, rework, and AUC updates in the NC portal.
• Ensure the Quality Department and Machine Shop have the required gauges and measuring equipment available.
• Track calibration of measuring and testing tools in line with NABL expectations and keep documentation current.
• Support ongoing improvement efforts using lean methods and principles.
• Investigate and fix process-related issues in the Machine Shop and at supplier sites.
• Carry out mechanical testing using UTM and torque test equipment.

Quality assurance responsibilities

• Follow documentation procedures that align with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.
• Ensure quality and operational activities comply with the Business Code of Practice.
• Conduct supplier audits and process audits according to company and quality expectations.
• Perform process assurance audits and verify that they remain effective across product lines to support stable output quality.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant holds a Diploma or B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering and has 1 to 3 years of experience in quality roles within a production environment, preferably in the automobile or engineering sector.

Knowledge and technical requirements

• Strong familiarity with measuring instruments and their handling.
• Exposure to CMM operation, CNC turning, and conventional machines is an advantage.
• Understanding of quality audit procedures and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
• Basic working knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, MSA, and PPAP.
• Basic understanding of metallurgy.
• Awareness of different raw material grades.
• Strong analytical ability.
