In-Store Baker

Role overview

This position is for an in-store baker based at Brighton Station within M&S Simply Food. The role sits in a lively retail environment where the pace is fast, customer interaction is frequent, and teamwork is essential. Both full-time and part-time arrangements are available.

Pay and working pattern

The standard pay is £12.85 per hour. For hours worked between midnight and 6:00 am, an additional £1.20 per hour is paid, which lifts the rate to £13.60 per hour for those hours.

Shifts may run across 23:00–7:00, 4:00–12:00, and 12:00–20:00. The rota requires flexibility across weekdays, weekends, bank holidays, and public holidays.

What the role involves

• Maintain a customer-focused approach in every task and interaction.
• Support stock management by keeping displays and shelves filled, tidy, and well organised.
• Work closely with teammates to help daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.

What we are looking for

Applicants should be comfortable in a busy, energetic setting and enjoy working with people. Prior experience in a similar position is required. Because some duties and shifts involve age-restricted responsibilities, candidates must be 18 years old or above to carry out certain tasks or work certain shifts.
