Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site Human Resources Officer position in Harare. The role supports the daily functioning of HR operations, including policy administration, recruitment support, employee record management, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management assistance. The position also contributes to job description development, labor law compliance, training coordination, workplace culture, and HR planning with leadership.
Key Duties
- Manage routine HR activities and ensure smooth day-to-day people operations.
- Support hiring processes and assist with recruitment coordination.
- Keep employee files and HR records complete, current, and accurate.
- Handle employee relations issues and help resolve workplace concerns.
- Organize onboarding and orientation for new employees.
- Assist with performance management cycles and related documentation.
- Create, revise, and maintain job descriptions.
- Help ensure HR practices align with labor regulations and company policies.
- Guide managers and staff on HR-related matters when needed.
- Support training activities and broader initiatives that strengthen workplace culture.
- Work with leadership on HR planning and related people strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Proven background in Human Resources and HR management, ideally within a technology or engineering environment.
- Ability to design, implement, and maintain HR policies that fit local labor requirements and business goals.
- Solid employee relations capability, including conflict handling, coaching, and fostering an inclusive workplace.
- Experience in creating job descriptions and aligning roles with organizational structure and career progression.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a similar discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with careful attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Good organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage several priorities and deadlines.
- Working knowledge of HR information systems and MS Office; exposure to HR metrics and reporting is beneficial.
