Role overview
Sirva is hiring a Global Assignment Consultant to support corporate clients with international relocation assignments. This role serves as the main coordination point for assignees and helps deliver assignment management services aligned with employer policies and country-specific requirements. Japanese language fluency is required.
Core responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of assignment support services, including policy guidance, destination assistance, household goods shipment, immigration support, departure coordination, and expense administration.
- Review client assignment policies and procedures, assess available options, and provide practical advice to assignees based on their needs and destination requirements.
- Maintain ongoing support for assignees throughout the full assignment lifecycle.
- Work with internal teams to ensure a smooth relocation experience for every assignee.
- Coordinate communication with certified providers and help maintain strong service quality.
- Handle communication with client HR teams regarding relocation matters affecting employees and their families.
- Support exception handling by recommending policy exceptions when appropriate.
- Share assignee status updates, keep the client informed of issues, suggest solutions, and complete client-requested tasks or projects.
- Carry out additional duties as needed to support the manager, client, and assignees effectively.
Qualifications and experience
- Fluency in Japanese is mandatory.
- At least 2 years of direct relocation experience, or 3 years of related customer service experience.
- Working knowledge of international assignment management and global business practices.
- Ability to spot issues early and propose workable solutions with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Well-developed organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Comfortable managing deadlines, handling multiple priorities, and performing in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong presentation ability, professional business etiquette, and good interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and related work systems.
- Overseas work or living experience is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma is required; a college degree is preferred.
