Role Overview

The General Manufacturing Operator will help deliver production goals by supporting quality, safety, output, and volume targets. The role also contributes to meeting customer service, financial, inventory, quality, and safety objectives through effective handling of enteral feeding devices in the operations area.

Key Responsibilities

Working under a Front Line Leader, the operator will support day-to-day production activities and ensure work is completed in line with required standards and timelines.

  • Run direct production activities on the line.
  • Make machine settings and minor adjustments as needed.
  • Check products and decide on their acceptance or rejection based on standards.
  • Move and manage materials during the production process.
  • Prepare, complete, and maintain all required process documentation accurately.
  • Follow all good manufacturing practice requirements.
  • Carry out duties in a safe and controlled manner at all times.
  • Work within planned budget controls, including waste reduction and plan adherence.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Follow all applicable operating procedures.
  • Contribute ideas that may improve cost efficiency.
  • Perform line clearance activities.
  • Use computer systems and applications when required.
  • Take part in project work such as product transfers, validation activities for facilities, equipment, or processes, and other quality or operational improvement initiatives.
  • Raise any safety concerns or improvement opportunities with the manager.
  • Follow environmental practices such as recycling and waste reduction and look for ways to improve them.

Environmental, Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Meet all environmental, health, and safety standards, and comply with relevant regulations and procedures.
  • Take responsibility for EHS performance by actively supporting Abbott’s EHS program.
  • Report any work-related injury or illness to employee health and assist with investigations when needed.
  • Participate in Abbott’s EHS initiatives and complete training as assigned.

Education and Experience

Leaving Certificate level education is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in a regulated manufacturing setting would be an advantage.

Working Hours
