General Accounting Manager

Role Overview

Soudah Development is seeking a General Accounting Manager to lead the organization’s accounting activities. This role is focused on maintaining accurate payment processing, recording accounting entries, preparing financial statements, and producing financial reports that support the company’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the general accounting function and ensure the general ledger is maintained in line with financial accounting instructions and requirements.
• Monitor and control postings from subsidiary ledgers, including accounts payable, fixed assets, and payroll.
• Ensure financial transactions and fixed assets are recorded correctly in the general ledger in accordance with local and international accounting standards.
• Support the application of accounting policies and procedures and strengthen internal controls to improve reliability, data integrity, and historical record-keeping for management decisions.
• Prepare the general ledger budget, ensure appropriate provisioning for activities, track expenditure against approved budgets, and explain budget variances.
• Review and coordinate the monthly trial balance, including account analysis, discrepancy identification, follow-up actions, and corrective measures.
• Help develop and implement department policies, procedures, and controls while ensuring procedural and legislative compliance and delivering a cost-effective service.
• Advise on central accounts payable operations so that payments, contracts, accruals, and related entries are properly recorded and reconciled under internal, statutory, and international standards.
• Support accurate and timely cost allocation for transactions and payments, and assist in consolidating and communicating payment information for strong cost control.
• Review payment reports and transactions and drive corrective actions to improve accounting and payment-processing quality.
• Guide the preparation of project financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support sound financial management.
• Ensure invoices are prepared accurately and that supporting documentation, analysis, and reconciliations are completed according to company policies and procedures.
• Supervise the preparation and review of financial statements and related notes, and ensure timely submission to the Division Manager and the Financial Statement Consolidation section.
• Support financial forecasting and budgeting, compare actual spending with budget, and recommend solutions to reduce overspending risks.
• Provide financial reports and progress updates to the Director of Accounting.
• Coordinate with external auditors and internal controllers to support financial statement validation.
• Work with the IT team to ensure systems align with business requirements and remain compatible with operational needs.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance or a closely related field from a recognized and accredited university is required.
• A master’s degree in a related field from a recognized and accredited university is preferred.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Saudi Arabia. The role centers on general accounting leadership, financial control, reporting accuracy, and cross-functional coordination.
