Role overview

Harmony Fire is growing rapidly and is seeking an Estimator to join its Pre-Construction team. The position is based out of the Dudley office and supports the Building Fabric - Pre-construction department. Reporting to Alex Goodall, this full-time role suits someone who is commercially astute, highly accurate, and comfortable taking full ownership of estimating work across a broad range of fire protection systems.

The role goes beyond preparing prices; it also calls for accountability, resilience, and a strong commitment to quality in support of a mission focused on life safety and fire and height safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for a variety of fire protection systems using CAD drawings, specifications, or similar project documentation.
• Contribute to tender submissions and help ensure they are completed accurately and within deadline.
• Work with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive quotations.
• Organise your own workload and coordinate deadlines, while keeping colleagues aligned to agreed delivery plans.
• Support the sales function in improving efficiency and commercial outcomes.
• Visit sites to complete surveys when needed.
• Help shape internal processes and procedures that improve customer experience and team efficiency.
• Handle communication with colleagues, customers, and members of the public by phone and email.

Skills and experience

• Strong ownership mindset with consistently high standards and a focus on doing work correctly the first time.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Solid written, numerical, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage time well, juggle priorities, and work to deadlines under pressure.
• Positive attitude toward learning, honesty, and collaborative working.
• Comfortable making outbound calls to suppliers and clients.
• Based within a reasonable commute of the Dudley office and willing to travel as required.
• Full UK driving licence required.
