About the Role

Alpago is looking for a skilled Estimator to join our team in Dubai. This position is crucial for developing precise and competitive bids for construction and fit-out projects. The ideal candidate will be adept at reviewing tenders, preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), pricing, value engineering, comparing subcontractor bids, and conducting pre-contract commercial assessments. You will be instrumental in shaping our tender strategies and ensuring our submissions are commercially robust.

Key Responsibilities

• Thoroughly examine tender documentation, including drawings, specifications, and contractual obligations.
• Spearhead the creation of detailed quantity take-offs and comprehensive BOQs.
• Develop accurate cost estimations for all aspects of construction, fit-out, and associated work.
• Critically assess project scopes to identify potential risks, exclusions, and commercial discrepancies.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare bids from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Formulate detailed pricing breakdowns, draft tender clarifications, and prepare commercial proposals.
• Collaborate effectively with design, procurement, quantity surveying, and project management teams to ensure alignment on technical and pricing aspects.
• Contribute to value engineering initiatives and propose cost-saving solutions.
• Utilize market rates, historical project data, and industry benchmarks to ensure pricing accuracy.
• Assist in the development of tender strategies, cost planning, and the finalization of bids.
• Ensure all estimates are completed within stipulated tender timelines and adhere to company quality standards.
• Provide commercial guidance and support to management throughout the tender process.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related discipline.
• Possess demonstrable experience as a Senior Estimator, with a strong focus on fit-out projects; prior construction project experience is advantageous.
• Exhibit a deep understanding of BOQ preparation and tender pricing methodologies.
• Have a solid grasp of construction techniques, materials, and various subcontractor packages.
• Demonstrate experience in commercial review, value engineering, and bid analysis.
• Possess strong analytical capabilities and the ability to produce clear reports.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and specialized estimation software.
• Exhibit excellent communication, coordination, and leadership qualities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working within the UAE market is highly desirable.
• Experience with luxury fit-out and high-end construction projects is a plus.
• Familiarity with contract terms and the intricacies of tender documentation.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tender submissions concurrently under demanding deadlines.
