The position is suited to an environmental professional who wants to advance their career while helping deliver strong environmental outcomes. You will support the future growth of the Environmental Approvals team and work alongside experienced colleagues on projects that affect communities across Australia.
What You Will Do
- Take the lead on, or provide support for, environmental assessments and planning work, especially within the resources and infrastructure sectors.
- Help coordinate multidisciplinary teams so approvals are delivered in line with project objectives and client expectations.
- Contribute to proposals and business development efforts as part of a collaborative team approach.
- Work with clients, project managers, and technical experts such as ecologists, acousticians, contaminated land specialists, engineers, and designers to create practical, future-focused solutions.
- Use data to shape monitoring programs and evaluate the environmental effects of major projects.
What We’re Looking For
We are open to different professional backgrounds, but the ideal candidate will bring several years of experience in environmental approvals and planning, along with the ability to work well with others and solve complex problems.
- A qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Ecology, or a similar discipline; postgraduate study is an advantage.
- About 5 to 10 years of experience in environmental planning and approvals.
- Prior involvement in environmental impact assessment and approval processes, particularly in the WA resources sector.
- Good knowledge of Australian environmental legislation and policy frameworks.
- Exposure to GIS, data analysis, or other digital tools used in environmental assessment is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus a team-focused mindset.
- Interest in mentoring others and supporting team development for more senior applicants.
