Entry-Level Sustainability Consultant

Overview

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented graduate to join a sustainability advisory team in New York. In this full-time entry-level role, you will support corporate clients, real estate developers, and public-sector organizations as they work through decarbonization plans, improve resource efficiency, and meet local environmental compliance requirements.

The position is designed as a guided development path, with structured mentorship intended to grow you from an early-career graduate into an independent specialist over an 18-month period.

The compensation for this role is a base salary of $70,000 to $90,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and validation of Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 greenhouse gas inventories using sustainability reporting tools.
• Work with engineering and design teams to review building-level data and help projects align with certifications and energy compliance standards such as LEED, WELL, or local codes.
• Create and maintain analytical models that track client consumption patterns across water use, waste reduction, and energy performance.
• Conduct market research and compare peer organizations to help clients identify and rank ESG risks that may affect long-term strategy.

Ideal Candidate

This opportunity is best suited to a recent graduate with a background in Environmental Science, Sustainable Infrastructure, Engineering, Economics, or a closely related field. You should be confident working with spreadsheets and sizable datasets, and comfortable spotting patterns and trends in raw information. Strong communication skills are also important, as you will need to turn technical environmental data into clear business recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
