Engineering Manager - TVS

Role Overview

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an Engineering Manager for TVS-related work in the Greater Chennai Area. The role focuses on engineering design and coordination for ECS and TVS systems used in metro rail and tunnel infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Create concept-level, preliminary, and detailed engineering designs for ECS and TVS systems across metro rail and tunnel projects.
• Perform ventilation and smoke-management calculations covering airflow, heat loads, piston-effect behavior, and emergency operating conditions.
• Size and engineer supply, exhaust, and smoke-extraction arrangements, including fans, dampers, silencers, shafts, louvers, and related ducting.
• Run and assess CFD studies for normal and emergency ventilation using tools such as IDA Tunnel, SES, and FDS.
• Analyze CFD outputs to confirm system performance and refine the design for safety and efficiency.
• Develop and examine layouts, schematics, single-line drawings, and P&IDs for ECS and TVS packages.
• Liaise with Civil, Architectural, Electrical, Fire, ELV, BIM, and other contractors to achieve coordinated and integrated design delivery.
• Make sure the design aligns with relevant codes and standards, including NFPA 130, ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC, and project-specific criteria.
• Evaluate vendor drawings, technical submissions, equipment data sheets, and CFD documentation, and contribute to design reviews, safety audits, authority submissions, and client-facing presentations.
• Support site teams during construction, testing, commissioning, and preparation of as-built records.
• Compile technical specifications, bills of quantities, and cost estimates for ECS and TVS systems.
