Role overview
Cactus Communications offers language editing support to researchers preparing manuscripts for publication. This role is suited to someone who naturally notices grammar issues, keeps up with developments in their subject area, and can use both language ability and disciplinary knowledge to strengthen academic writing.
As an Editor specializing in Sociology, you will help researchers worldwide present their work in clear, polished scientific English so it is ready for submission to respected journals.
What you will do
- Refine manuscripts so the writing is clear, formal, and aligned with standard scientific English, eliminating awkward or unnatural phrasing.
- Apply assignment-specific instructions and, when needed, shape the document to match the formatting expectations of the target journal.
- Check that the manuscript follows the conventions and standards relevant to the subject area.
What you need
- A completed PhD in Sociology, Anthropology, or Organizational Behavior.
- Strong command of English, close attention to detail, and ideally some prior experience in editing.
