About the Role
At Vocon, the team is built around different backgrounds, perspectives, and passions, but united by a shared goal: creating design work that tells a story. The studio values collaboration, curiosity, and the belief that strong relationships lead to stronger outcomes. It also encourages bold thinking, fresh ideas, and a commitment to shaping spaces and experiences that improve everyday life.
Role Overview
This position is for an experienced design professional who can support a wide range of project delivery work across several project types and phases. The role involves independently handling architectural and interior design tasks, developing design and technical solutions for small assignments or major portions of larger projects, and applying solid architectural judgment to produce accurate, high-quality work with limited oversight. The Designer III also supports project teams and consultants, contributes reliably to project delivery, and serves as a point of support for less experienced colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Create design layouts, project features, and technical solutions within assigned scope, including research, analysis, and documentation that support project goals.
- Work independently on architectural and interior design tasks of moderate complexity.
- Carry assigned work through multiple design and documentation stages while maintaining quality, accuracy, and alignment with project standards.
- Coordinate deliverables and progress with internal project team members and external consultants.
- Produce project documentation using design and production tools, office software, and current presentation standards.
- Support specifications, product review, and material selection for the assigned scope of work.
- Perform site surveys, field checks, and assessments of existing conditions, then reflect findings in project documents.
- Build presentation materials and help communicate design ideas and solutions to project teams and clients.
- Assist during construction-phase activities, including reviewing project information and recording field observations when directed.
Capabilities
The role calls for a professional who can handle the core responsibilities of the Designer position, juggle multiple assignments, solve design and technical problems across varied project complexity, and communicate clearly in verbal, written, and visual formats. Strong coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams is important, along with solid organization, time management, and collaboration. The position also expects proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows, plus working knowledge of Enscape, Bluebeam, Newforma, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and related tools. Strong BIM modeling and documentation abilities are also essential.
Requirements
- A degree in architecture or interior design from an accredited university.
- Typically 5 or more years of experience in commercial interior design or architectural work.
Compensation
The stated salary range is $80,000 to $90,000 per year.
