Role overview
As a Delivery Services Officer, you will focus on customer service while delivering goods across the assigned service area. The position is best suited to someone with prior multi-drop delivery experience, strong knowledge of the Adelaide metropolitan area, and the ability to work from the metro area. A suitable vehicle licence is required.
Key duties
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries across the designated route.
- Load the vehicle efficiently and safely before departure.
- Plan routes to complete deliveries within the required timeframe.
- Respond to customer queries and provide face-to-face service when needed.
- Ensure items are delivered securely and on schedule.
- Use knowledge of the Adelaide Metro area to support effective delivery work.
- Follow procedures for locking, checking and inspecting vehicles.
- Maintain strict compliance with security standards.
- Record delivery details using computer systems and handheld devices.
Required background and capabilities
- Previous experience handling multi-drop deliveries is essential.
- A current C class driver licence is required, along with the ability to operate a manual vehicle.
- Demonstrated route-planning experience is needed.
- Experience dealing with customers in person is expected.
- Strong communication skills are important.
- You must be accurate when recording information, including on handheld technology.
- A positive, proactive, can-do approach is preferred.
- You must be willing to complete a security clearance during recruitment.
- A recent driving record must be available for review.
