Role overview

As a Delivery Services Officer, you will focus on customer service while delivering goods across the assigned service area. The position is best suited to someone with prior multi-drop delivery experience, strong knowledge of the Adelaide metropolitan area, and the ability to work from the metro area. A suitable vehicle licence is required.

Key duties

• Carry out multi-drop deliveries across the designated route.
• Load the vehicle efficiently and safely before departure.
• Plan routes to complete deliveries within the required timeframe.
• Respond to customer queries and provide face-to-face service when needed.
• Ensure items are delivered securely and on schedule.
• Use knowledge of the Adelaide Metro area to support effective delivery work.
• Follow procedures for locking, checking and inspecting vehicles.
• Maintain strict compliance with security standards.
• Record delivery details using computer systems and handheld devices.

Required background and capabilities

• Previous experience handling multi-drop deliveries is essential.
• A current C class driver licence is required, along with the ability to operate a manual vehicle.
• Demonstrated route-planning experience is needed.
• Experience dealing with customers in person is expected.
• Strong communication skills are important.
• You must be accurate when recording information, including on handheld technology.
• A positive, proactive, can-do approach is preferred.
• You must be willing to complete a security clearance during recruitment.
• A recent driving record must be available for review.
