Role overview

Mitre 10 MEGA Whanganui is a locally owned and operated business with a strong focus on great customer service and community support. The team is seeking a dependable, motivated full-time Delivery Driver to work across the Trade, Drive Thru, and yard areas.

In this role, you will help customers receive their goods safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The job blends driving, loading and unloading, customer assistance, and general operational support in a busy trade setting.

Every day will be varied. You will be involved in deliveries, helping maintain an orderly and safe workspace, supporting the smooth running of daily operations, and assisting customers with the products they need for their projects.

Key duties

• Load, transport, and deliver goods to customers in a safe and timely manner.
• Support the Drive Thru, yard, and trade operations as needed.
• Assist customers and provide a high standard of service.
• Help keep the work area tidy, organised, and safe.
• Contribute to the day-to-day running of a fast-paced trade environment.

What you should bring

• A valid New Zealand Class 2 licence is required.
• Class 4 certification and experience operating a Hiab will be an advantage.
• Background in delivery driving, trade work, warehousing, retail, or yard work is helpful.
• A strong focus on safe working methods.
• Physical capability to handle frequent lifting and moving of building materials.
• Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Dependability, integrity, and good time management.
• The ability to work cooperatively within a team.
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and readiness to take on a range of operational tasks.

Additional information

Experience in the building or trade sector is an advantage, but suitable training will be provided to the successful applicant if they bring the right attitude.

Working hours

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, with weekend work included where required.
