Role overview
Domino’s is expanding its team in Alamo, Tennessee and is looking for delivery experts to join immediately. The role is designed for people who want flexible shifts, with both short and long schedules available. Candidates can choose part-time or full-time hours depending on what fits their availability.
Drivers generally earn more than $20 per hour when base pay, tips, and mileage reimbursement are combined. Tips and mileage reimbursement are paid every day, while hourly wages are issued every other Friday.
Delivery team members may use their own vehicle and receive mileage reimbursement that helps cover fuel and other car-related expenses, or they may use a company-provided vehicle if they meet the stated vehicle-use conditions. Safe driving is essential, and the role uses technology intended to help make deliveries quicker and safer.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pizza and other products to customers within the assigned delivery zone.
- Use safe driving practices and complete multiple deliveries during a shift.
- Follow maps, navigate to addresses, and locate delivery destinations accurately.
- Carry food and beverages between the store, vehicle, and customer locations.
- Work across stairs, multi-story buildings, and other challenging delivery environments when needed.
- Provide courteous customer service while completing deliveries.
- Work independently and also coordinate effectively with the store team.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid driver’s license is required, along with a driving record that passes review.
- Applicants must be able to pass a background check.
- A dependable vehicle and valid insurance are required unless using a company vehicle.
- Strong map-reading and navigation ability is needed.
- Must be able to work in adverse weather and handle varied delivery conditions.
- Must be able to perform repetitive work, follow instructions, and meet quality standards.
- Ability to work under pressure, make sound decisions, and provide excellent customer service is necessary.
- For company vehicle use, the driver must be at least 21 years old and have at least 2 years of driving history plus a clean driving record.
Working conditions and physical demands
The role may involve exposure to changing weather, sudden temperature shifts, food odors, cornmeal dust, compact work areas, hot equipment, and sharp or moving parts. In-store temperatures may range from 36 degrees in coolers up to 90 degrees or more in some areas.
Physical tasks can include walking, carrying, climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, and frequent hand use. Delivery work may require carrying items up and down stairs, including 5 or more flights. The job also involves regular driving, food handling, and movement around the store and delivery areas.
Additional physical details include repeated forward bending at the pizza station, continuous reaching in multiple directions, and frequent use of hands for dough shaping, pizza cutting, box assembly, and handling tools and containers. Vision and hearing requirements include phone communication, near and mid-range vision for in-store work, far and night vision for driving, and the ability to distinguish hot from cold surfaces.
Growth and opportunity
The position offers flexible scheduling and a path to advancement. Delivery experts may progress into roles such as Shift Lead, Assistant Manager, or General Manager. The company notes that many franchise owners began their careers as delivery drivers.
Diversity and workplace values
The organization says it values honesty, transparency, accountability, and inclusion, and aims to create an environment where people with different backgrounds can reach their full potential.
Employment and employer details
This role is with an independently owned and operated franchise location. Employment decisions such as hiring, supervision, pay, discipline, staffing, scheduling, and benefits are handled by the franchisee, not by the corporate entity. If hired, the franchisee will be the sole employer.
Additional information
The company emphasizes a people-first approach and says it works to provide a safe and stable environment for team members. It also highlights that local store owners continue to build the business, many of whom began as delivery drivers or pizza makers.
