What the role involves
- Preparing customer orders across the fresh food counters, including sandwiches, rolls, hot dishes and sliced meats, while following store portion control standards.
- Cooking, preparing and presenting food items throughout the day.
- Keeping deli and fresh food displays consistently well presented and maintained to a high standard.
- Sharing product knowledge, recipe ideas and personalised suggestions to help customers choose food they will enjoy.
- Responding to customer questions promptly, professionally and in line with store procedures.
- Working in a way that reflects the Centra values of being proud, energetic, imaginative and community-focused.
What the employer is looking for
The ideal applicant should be a strong communicator who works well with others in a busy, fast-moving environment. Experience in customer service is helpful, though not essential. A genuine interest in food and the ability to encourage customer interest in fresh products will be important.
