Data Science Manager - AI Trainer

Role Overview

This role is for experienced quantitative professionals who can help improve AI systems by evaluating and refining how they handle data-heavy and analytical work. You’ll collaborate with advanced AI models on tasks such as reviewing model-generated quantitative analyses, solving technical challenges, and giving feedback that helps shape how these systems reason through data, models, and scientific questions. The position is well suited to people from fields like data science, astrophysics, economics, biostatistics, operations research, and other similar quantitative disciplines.

Some contributors take on this work alongside another full-time job, while others use it as their main professional focus.

How the Process Works

Contracting Highlights

• You can select the projects you want to take on and decide when to work on them.
• Work is completed on your own computer and on a schedule that fits your availability, including from home.
• Pay is hourly, beginning at USD 50–100+ per hour, with some projects offering additional bonus rates.

Responsibilities

• Check AI-produced quantitative outputs for correctness, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, scientific reasoning, and data-backed conclusions.
• Create and solve quantitative problems used to train and measure AI systems across areas such as forecasting, experimental analysis, optimization, and statistical inference.
• Prepare concise technical explanations and maintain well-structured analytical code.
• Share feedback that helps improve future AI models designed for quantitative reasoning.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of practical experience in a quantitative role or research setting, such as data science, statistics, economics, finance, physics, biology, epidemiology, operations research, or a related discipline.
• Comfort with coding and the ability to write and review analytical code from start to finish.
• Hands-on exposure to statistical techniques, predictive modeling, and experiment design, including A/B testing, hypothesis testing, regression, classification, and time-series forecasting.
• Strong English fluency at native or bilingual level, along with excellent writing ability.
• A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject is preferred, such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering; a master’s degree or PhD is an advantage.
• Extra credentials are beneficial, such as Kaggle competition rankings, AWS/GCP machine learning certifications, or other proof of advanced expertise.

This is an independent contractor arrangement. Payment is processed through PayPal, and currency conversion from USD is handled by PayPal. You will never be asked to pay any fee or send money. Only candidates located in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand will be considered.
