Role Overview
This opportunity is for a Controls and Governance Lead within the cards business. The position sits at the center of operational discipline, compliance, and accuracy for card products and related activities. It serves as the first line of control, protecting process integrity, checking partner outputs, and making sure both customer-facing content and internal records remain accurate. The role calls for persistence, strong attention to detail, and the confidence to influence stakeholders to maintain standards.
Controls and Oversight
- Act as the internal owner for governance matters within the cards team and ensure procedures and standards are followed closely.
- Examine reports from partners and vendors to confirm alignment with regulatory, contractual, and operational expectations.
- Track contract timelines, identify agreements approaching expiry, and escalate them in time for renewal or closure.
- Review telesales scripts and related operations so that wording stays accurate and consistent with product documentation.
- Make sure websites, apps, and other customer-facing channels reflect current, correct, and consistent information.
Documentation and Process Control
- Keep Standard Operating Procedures for card-related functions current and well maintained.
- Audit marketing and product materials to remove outdated, duplicate, or conflicting information across digital and print channels.
- Carefully assess contracts, agreements, and business cases before sending them onward to leadership.
Stakeholder Engagement and Support
- Support the Head of Cards as a dependable governance partner in daily oversight activities.
- Work with product teams, operations, telesales, and external vendors to ensure compliance-driven working methods.
- Use strong persuasion and follow-through to secure corrective action, improve accuracy, and close identified gaps.
Requirements
- English and Arabic fluency is essential.
- 8 to 10 years of relevant background in governance, compliance, or documentation management, ideally in financial services or payment products.
- Ability to read, assess, and interpret contracts, partner agreements, and operational reports.
- High precision and a structured, systematic approach to work.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, persuade, and drive issues to resolution.
- Proactive and persistent working style, with the ability to enforce controls while maintaining effective professional relationships.
- Comfort working in card product environments and directly assisting senior leadership.
